Cen.Grand 9i-906 "Silver Fox"

I mentioned that example about the drivability because thats what you had mentioned.

I don't see the same thing as Sonnet with the Morpheus and Pasithea. Different DAC's with different names. Just like dSC with Vivaldi, Rossina, and Bartok.

I see I left out an important detail with what I was trying to convey. The name. I think they should have called it something else other than Little Fox. It takes the conversation away from the Silver Fox. Let the Little Fox be it's own entity with no comparisons.

Advertise it as The "insert name" with trickle down technology from our top of the line Silver Fox, etc etc.

Just like Madrigal did with the Proceed line using trickle down technology from their Mark Levinson line.

Anyways, just my opinion.

No I totally get it, the name could indeed put some people off depending on their viewpoint. Just like the GS-X Mini, which is in fact still a decently sized amplifier that is not really very "miniature" in price either.

Technically the smaller amp is called the Cen.Grand 9i-806 which fits in the hierarchy below the 9i-906. I think the whole "Fox" thing is almost more like a nickname to make the otherwise not very memorable naming seem a little more catchy. But if it bugs anyone then just ignore that part and go with the number-based naming scheme.

@cengrand @ArthurPower What is the warranty on the Silver Fox? Also, is it transferable to a second-hand owner? Thanks for the info!
Cen.Grand offer's lifetime support and repairs for all their products. The first year the customer will incur no expenses. After one year the customer will have to pay for shipping and possibly a small nominal charge for the repair and parts. This warranty is applicable to any owner, second, third ... it doesn't matter. So yes it is fully transferable.

My company handles the warranty service for US customers. :)

Something tells me that it's not too far off
It is all just academic to me at this point, though. At heart and at bottom, I'm a "Go big or go home" kind of guy, so for me, the debate over the choice of the "bigger" or "smaller" fox, was kind of over even before it started... As a more pragmatic consideration, I find the bigger fox to be more suited to my needs because of some rather notoriously inefficient Headphones I own

Of course, I remain interested as an enthusiast in the smaller Fox as well, and look forward to reading all the reviews that are going to appear about it. I need to know the capabilities that separate or distinguish one from the other.

Sure, I can understand that. In this hobby there's lots of people who go for the very best, just so that they don't have to worry about the 'what if?' question later on. If you have cans notorious to drive, going big is justified.

Well I have a little more than 100 hours on it and I am super impressed. It makes my old Aeon Open and HD650 sound fantastic. I can only imagine what the Empyrean Elite must sound like.
Do you have another Elite on the way?

I don't yet, but I plan on it again in the near future.

I do have a ZMF Atrium Closed arriving on Thursday though. Zach sent me these pictures of mine. Olive Wood.

I have DCA expanse but looking at mm500 again as secondary HP. Could be amazing synergy with full bodied FOX
Yep! The Silver Fox is full-bodied, but also great at every other technical aspect of delivering music to your headphones. Macro and micro dynamics shine and I love how fast this amp is.
