Gosh, maybe I'm old fashioned, but this is the way I always listen to music, from beginning to end. No skipping or fast forwarding for this guy!

Ok, in truth, if there is a particularly bad track on an otherwise excellent CD, I will skip it if a remote is handy. But more often than not, if I don't like one or more tracks, then I probably don't like the CD in general.

There are also a handful of CDs that have just one exceptional track, but are otherwise uninteresting. I will occasionally pull one of those out when I'm in the mood for the "perfect" song at that precise moment.

I didn't know there was any other way to listen to a cd or album. I always listen from beginning to end (time permitting). I never fast forward to a specific track or past a specific track. It's the way I've always done it.

Not for me though. Just now I wanted to listen to Bjork's "All Neon Like", and went right away to that song without listening to any of the previous ones in Homogenic. A great CD all in all, but sometimes I just need to listen certain music, or certain melodies, or voice inflections that I remember, or certain instruments. It all depends on the mood, or what my ear feels like. So even among the CD's I can perfectly listen end to end, sometimes I just feel like specific songs.

Right now All Neon Like ended while I was writing the above, and now I feel like hearing the chorus in Bork's "Harm of Will", which is in the Vespertine CD. Listening to it right now. And so on...

The album is an indivisable unit of music to me. No single tracks, at least for headphone listening or while in the car.

But just to add one to the pile,

Super Furry Animals - Rings Around the World
