Hi Head-Fi'ers,

I'm looking for CD's and (Music and/or Movie) DVD's with SUPERB sound quality for DEMO purposes of headphones and Headzone.

I already bought Nah Youn Sun (Album "So I Am...") and a couple of other CD's like Keith Jarret's "The Köln Concert", but I am trying to find CD's in all other music styles aswell, mainly:
- Rock (also littler heavier/harder Rock music)
- Acoustic (unplugged recordings?)
- Classical
- Accapella
etc.

Of course I could search through a lot of threads, but I thought this would be the easier way and I think there a other people looking for DEMO CD's aswell.

Many thanks in adcance and greetings,
Peter SD

I highly recommend anything produced by Chesky records.

Their quite meticulous in so far as producing material fit for the most resolving systems imaginable.

If you haven't heard Rebecca Pidgeon sing, "Spanish Harlem" ... then your missing one hell of a nugget demo track.

Check HDTracks.com ... they sell lossless .flacs of a bunch of Chesky Records stuff.

BTW: If you sign up at HDTracks.com ... you get a five song demo download that is quite outstanding in my book. No money, no credit card ... just sign up and download the demo.

...

But GAWD!! You have to find a copy of Rebecca Pidgeon's rendition of "Spanish Harlem," ... really ... it's *THAT* good.

Should be required material in any demo arsenal, IMHO.

x-2 on Aja

But my all time fave for audio bliss is: Drum roll.........

West German Target of Dire Straits-Love Over Gold
If you can find a copy grab it. It sounds amazing. And can be had for $25 if you look hard enough!! This target was a U.S only so finding a copy is quite easy!!

Aaron Copland's "Fanfare for the Common Man" on 24-bit HDCD
with Eiji Oue conducting
the Minnesota Orchestra
(on Reference Recordings)
is stunning
("Appalachian Spring Suite" and "Third symphony" complete the CD).

Listen barefoot -
(it will "knock your socks off")

Anything made by Telarc.

Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon. The level of detail will blow your mind

There's a lot of different versions of it. A lot of them recorded badly.
