CD3000 Earpads

Any places cheaper than the price audiocubes2 offers?
90 dollars for a pair of headphone earpads seems rather high for me.

Don't set your hopes too high, they prolly can't source them...as they have no stock, they import them from Japan and SONY only has right earpads now(same problem for the cd1700): http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:VdmTL7-RDCYJ:www.system5.jp/ec/html/item/001/045/item44300.html+4-946-221-01&cd=19&hl=en&ct=clnk

this guy explains how to make new ones in suede/leather: http://www.geocities.jp/myaudiolife/mdrcd3000/reconstruction1.html

that's our best option, as I'm sick and tired of seeing the stock earpads flaking out after a few months tbh

The pair I've got on my ears as I'm typing this is 6 months old, and the right pad is flaking badly already...I have two brand new pairs unused in advance, hook us a deal on leather earpads and I can trade you one pair if you like.

You could also try the ebay cheapies, the good side is that they're not sticky and might not flake out after a few months(anyone knows?), but they're way too firm and bulky...and also not quite as soft. You do get what you pay for. I asked the seller if he could make a leather version w/ thinner foam donuts, but he declined it.
