CCA upcoming flagship, CCA HM20

Rumored to be 3D printed resin with internal soundtube
and judging from the name and the image, it will be 1DD+9BA (10 perside or 20 for both, HM20)
it have been teased (the right/2nd image before PR1 a thing), so they takes their time to tuned this one or want to capitalize on Planar Hype first

Maybe 13.2mm planar and 9 BA. That could be interesting. They could even include a switch to bypass all the BAs!

Uuh, some complain on KZ discords asking for more details on ZS10Prox driver setup in terms on how they divide the work between 5 drivers. Now in the next upcoming iem we got this fineprint.
but yeah, 3D Print shell with build in soundtubes~. pretty sure Truthear Zero used the same printing tech?

Also, new 3rd gen Xun driver. 1st gen is widely used driver, 2nd gen is in Lyra (which seems to have positive review), then immediately move to 3rd gen in this upcoming HM20. Not exotic material details, just "stronger magnet","lower magnet gap", "dual magnet and cavity" "thin membrane",

So needing to replace my CA16 on 11/11, I was wondering if there were any other CCA that sound better than those? I know it's personal. Also, any others since CA16 that have the same shell design? CS16 maybe?
Depends on which aspects of CA16 you like. If you are using on stage you want good isolation, so good fit is essential. If wearing for long periods that helps with comfort too. Closest I can think of to CA16 with good mid-bass and smooth treble would be TRI Meteor or Tipsy TTROMSO Pinestone Sea (yes, that's seriously the name). Both have comfortable semi-custom shells with good isolation, comfortable fit and similar sound profile. SuperTFZ Force1 is also very good for fit and isolation, less bass focused but would make a good stage monitor (clear option probably better for that). None of those have the driver count of the CA16, but that truly doesn't matter. Don't worry if people describe an IEM as boring, you don't want anything too aggressive that will be fatiguing.

CCA CA16 pro and C16 were harsher tunings, so more likely to be tiring over time. KZ ZAX was similar but slightly hotter in treble and no semi-custom fit so not as comfortable.

That CCA HM20 might be an option. It's apparently a 1 + 7 configuration with 1 DD, 3x dual MF BA and 1 x HF BA. Compared to 1 DD, 2x dual MF BA and 3 HF BA in the CCA CA16. None of the BA's are in the nozzle so same as the CA16 there, the sound tubes might help more IF they are well implemented All the drivers are updated to the Black "s" versions including replacement of 30095 with 30019s. Given the change in driver count and type it's unlikely to be boosted above CA16 in treble, although if 50024s has wider frequency response, that might be due to a higher point for the crossover between MF and HF BAs. XUN-7 is potentially an improvement too. Lyra only stated improved upgrade XUN, but no designation. This may be same driver. Price with $12 coupon is the same as CA16 until end of October.

This might be the new CA16. Which makes sense to receive an update, since it was one of their better models.

Unfortunately it does not appear to share the same semi-custom shape, which could be a deal breaker. :triportsad:

Feedback before the coupon times out will (as usual) be tight, but these may be the droids er... IEMs you're looking for! :L3000:

It looks like the ca16 pro has the same body as the ca16? Just a different faceplate?
Not sure if it's exactly the same, but it is semi-custom shape with a wing. Internal driver layout is similar to the HM20: DD, 3 x Dual 5024s, 1x 30019 (non s version).

I haven't heard it, but tuning was different to CA16. Paul Wasabii did a good comparison on YouTube

Another CA16 during the sale may be a good option :smile_phones:

Probably going the ca16 route again. If the pro had more bass, I may go with it for my drums

In lyra they stated next gen XUN but in HM20 they stated 3rd gen XUN and named it XUN-7, i have feeling that the XUN in HM20 is 7mm DD that utilized XUN technology, instead of 10mm 2nd gen XUN in Lyra. This is only my assumption so take with grain of salt. But if true, I'm afraid they may don't have same impact with 10mm XUN DDs.
