Any bets as to what the flaw will be? What budget diss bingo terms will haunt this unit the most?

"thin / hollow mids"
"midbass bloom"
"treble fatigue"
"Weird tonality"
"bright" (used as a pejorative)

Predictable review cleverness:

"blown away by NRA"
"Shot in the heart, NRA to blame."
"NRA: a straight (neutral) shooter"

My copy also thru customs now. I won't be back home to try it when it arrives, sadly, as I'm away on travel :frowning2:

Betting on banshee treble & unnatural timbre.

"banshee treble" - I will pay 10 euro extra for that lol 😆

Tonality and timbre could shock us in a positive way. I've got naively high hopes.

If it is tuned better (no 3k peak)/similar (no 3k peak) to the Shuoer Tape (ORIGINAL!!), then it will be a great iem at an affordable price.

I believe one camp will be - typical KZ. V shaped nothing new. And one camp will be CCA all the way. Beats Moondrop Variations dead. Thieaudio Monarch has a new competitor at 1/10th cost and what not.

And yes, they will sound fantastic with unobtanium cable. Mine are on the way but I'll definitely have a bucket full of popcorn to keep me company as I watch the drama unfold.

IMO I hope them to build on DQ6 since that triple magnetic DD looks a natural progression of DQ6

Looks like I already paid my extra euros... BA10 is very similar profile in the treble. Not surprising since these probably share the same drivers. I seem to recall a reviewer complaining about hot treble in BA10 on the reviews page. I do like the treble extension in this set, and there's room for it to be higher IMO. Kinera's Nanna is an example.

I gave up on ordering a pair of the Tape but they've been on my radar for a long time. I haven't been able to shake the feeling that a better EST budget pair ~ $150 to $200 is just around the corner. For my ears, those treble scoops look like a deal breaker on acoustic recordings. That crazy 17k peak tries to save some sparkle but I'd imagine that the effect is thin strings competing against microdetails.

Doesn't look like they will be using acoustic dampers so peaky treble is almost guaranteed.

No tubes either.

Had a brief listen to the CCA NRA and I can honestly say that they DO NOT belong at the low asking price bracket. Even though they have retro double-line detachable cables and average silicone ear tips, just change both the cables and ear tips to your taste and you got a budget king!

The sound is incredibly mature and crazy good...Enough said!:astonished::thumbsup:

I've been seeing more and more of these solid resin shells with sound tubes carefully drilled out for the drivers. Is it really so much better to just cop out and let your ear canal serve as a resonance chamber?

Do you have the Tape? Is it similar? Or like the LZ A6?

The sub-bass is crazy and the life-like coherency left me losing sleep, which I need to do now.
Sounds more like CKX, but with a wider soundstage and no sharp or even harsh treble peaks. It is just insane!

That's a shocking comparison, since the CKX is another good IEM for the price, mainly troubled by a narrow soundstage.
