Oh I fully agree with you. I’m fully accepting it’s a limitation with using iPhone. It’s just that unfortunately, it’s the device I own that I can’t change at the moment.
But still, as it’s a pretty mainstream device out there, would be nice if cayin can find a solution to this. Instead of saying they don’t comment on 3rd party products, they should at least recommend some products that will allow their device to work nicely.

Finally got to try the ru7
Similar experience as above
iPhone 14 pro max

Apple camera adapter: lots of stuttering, even at dsd64 low gain, volume at 45. Also tried with external battery pack attached same time. Made no difference.

Shanling usb c to Lightning: stuttering above 47, dsd 64, low gain

Cayin l2c: best results, stuttering above 50 low gain dsd128

My iems are empire ears Zeus.

So a little disappointed couldn’t get the ru7 to work nicely. I will try to get my hands on the tc28i pro and give it another try.

The ru7 had a much more refined sound compared to the ru6 , which was also worse with the stuttering compared to ru7.

Just go with the the MFi07S Cable. No issues on high gain at dsd256 with iPhone 13 pro max.

hi @Andykong and community! Quick question. Does the RU7 pass dsd signals from a source onto the conversion stage unmodified? For example, if I have a DSD album in my library on my computer or upsample to dsd on my computer, will the RU7 resample that in any way? Or does it just get converted as is by the DAC?

Hi Angelo, I had no problem with the DD mfi for iphone, now use the TC09 with LG V50, great cable

When you said RU7 has a much more refined sound than RU6, do you mean it is less analog / rough or more OS, smoother and was it on DSD64/128/256? Thank you.
