:0 that’s absolutely wild, sorry for your tube loss. Really turns me off from trying Elrogs. Unless they can fix that quality issue or offer an extended warranty it seems so risky. This can't be understated. Loved my Elrogs but then this past weekend mine died, which was just a few months after the one year warranty expired.
300Bs are generally way too expensive to keep buying every year or two. Therefore, WE's 5 year warranty is looking like a clear advantage over the other two manufacturers.

Cayin HA-300MK2 (2022) TOTL Transformer coupled Direct Heated Triode Tube HeadAmp (Page 91)

What headphone pairings do you guys like with ha 300?
My daily driver is the original Focal Utopia. A true reference dynamic.
I also use the ZMF Verite. Not as technical as the Utopia but it has a little more soul. Interestingly, I don't actually use this headphone to much anymore. But it to scales very well with the MK2.

Im curious what made Cayin choose a 'JRC MUSES72320V' 41 step attenuator vs something like a simple but high quality TKD pot?

No tracking issues, and most likely better handling of the analog signal.Im curious what made Cayin choose a 'JRC MUSES72320V' 41 step attenuator vs something like a simple but high quality TKD pot?
One of the reasons I love this amp. The cages! Dual benefits. Acts as a Faraday cage to reduce both RFI & EMI and keeps small pets(and humans) from getting burned on tubes.
This little guy has started to love curling up next to the power supply to warm up.

Whats that other amp ?
That's the ALO Studio Six(recently disconnected). It's a 5AR4 tube rectified SET amp that uses two OB2 gas regulators for voltage into one 6SN7 as an input tube into two 6V6G(T)s on the output.Whats that other amp ?

I would definitely not recommend any Sophia Electric 300B tube as two of mine failed within <3 months of use.Worth getting the best tubes you can afford (as others just mentioned above), it will instantly pay off with a more immersive/believable sonic presentation, it is also worth having a choice. You can't go wrong with Sophia Electric Royal Princess 300B and the blue glass 6SN7 (make sure you select the top 10% units from the pop out menu, if you decide to go for them).

This amplifier with any high quality tubes brings an absolute top league sound, if this is what you are looking for (character wise + matching headphones). It can be easily an end game amplifier and definitely is a pure bargain at the price it is being offered (typically you would need to multiply it by two to get there, looking at the current market).

I have always liked the OB2.That's the ALO Studio Six(recently disconnected). It's a 5AR4 tube rectified SET amp that uses two OB2 gas regulators for voltage into one 6SN7 as an input tube into two 6V6G(T)s on the output.

Ah yes i recognize it now. Curra's long time amp. How is it vs ha300 ?That's the ALO Studio Six(recently disconnected). It's a 5AR4 tube rectified SET amp that uses two OB2 gas regulators for voltage into one 6SN7 as an input tube into two 6V6G(T)s on the output.
It's not as massive in sonic weight and heft as the MK2. It also puts out just a touch more than 1W. So again not as mighty. It does however have an tremendous amount of tube rolling options for the output tubes.Ah yes i recognize it now. Curra's long time amp. How is it vs ha300 ?
It's very similar in that both the MK2 and the Studio Six are both linear, fast and quick for tube amps. They are both extremely well built and have way more in common than they're different. Two classic output tubes, the 6V6 and the mighty 300B. I'm grateful to own both.

An update on the amp issue... it seems like its a problem between my dac and the amp... when i move my RCA cable at the amp level the problem follows the cable.. when i change to a different set of RCA cables the problem is still there and follows the cable. So the dac output somehow is not getting along with ha300 rca input. I have to try a different dac now.

I changed the RCA output from 1 side to another at the dac level and the problem follows the swap so I definitely need to try a different dac.

Have you tried the XLR inputs on the AMP yet?I changed the RCA output from 1 side to another at the dac level and the problem follows the swap so I definitely need to try a different dac.
