I am buying an Audio-GD DAC and amp that uses CAST technology and I need the CAST cables to connect them. I was told I can make my own (never done this though). I can't find any links to a part like this. I understand that the cable is the same as audio cables- yes?
Any help?

You can find them on Audiogon sometimes, but the prices can be a bit prohibitive.

I just did the same thing. I had Kingwa add the CAST cable connectors to the order. They are some type of LEMO connector. I'll most likely approach LEMO about this when I get the connectors on my hand. But I've been looking for this info also.

There are so many different type of Lemo connectors and terminations....

Circular Connectors | LEMO UK | High performance push-pull connectors

I should have the connectors in my hand this week sometime.

OP, bump this thread to remind me by next Friday. I'll post some PIX and maybe by then I'll know the LEMO part number.

Hi,
I am having a hell of a time getting this simple info. Somebody HAS to know the Lemo connector number. I realize this is a niche market but the info just doesn't seem to be out there. Lemo's Mothership in Switzerland has contacted me to tell me to talk to LEMO USA. This is not that easy either. I've called soem dealers for Lemo listed on their website, they are useless also.

Seems like you have to be born knowing this info!

Ok, Good and bad News.

I just got off the phone with a Lemo Guy.

I measured a number of dimensions with calipers on Kingwa's Plug and jack. It seems this connector does not match any Lemo. It's between from the Lemo sizes and products. So presently he is sending me links on the two closest. I may be mod'ing my REF1 and Phoenix to REAL Lemo connectors.

Doesn't that sound like fun. The boards in the REF1 are held in with a million screws on the bottom for heat sink coupling. So, not sure what I'll do presently. Stop and think a bit....

Ok, Little more info

The Krell Jacks are female, Kingwa's Jacks are male.
Ditto the plugs

The Krell plugs are Male, Kingwa's Plugs are Female.

So matching, forget it. Also LEMO is very funny about letting info out about the mating surface dimensions. I guess they figure that protects it somehow. It is not published on the net. All their drawings are missing that measurement. Bizarre.

Your options are to use Kingwa's connectors, or change everything out. I think I've found all the Krell LEMO plug and jack part part numbers. That's what I'm going to use. I "think" they will mount in the existing mount holes on the case.

Plug FGG.1B.304.CLAD52 $35 at Mouser
Jack EGG.1B.304.CLL $28 at Mouser

I'm pulling all mine and re-terminating. Now need to pick the cable. I'll see if I can send a couple to kingwa to put in my Phoenix.

Hope this helps...

Hmmm, doesn't look like anybody is interested in this thread anymore!

Last Post unless someone has questions.

I got a guy on Ebay to read me the numbers off the Lemo connector on his Krell Cast Cable. The cable is male on both ends. The model is FGG 1B series as I mentioned above, so I do have rhe right parts. I'll order mine today I think.

So the Numbers I have above are confirmed.
