My caseworks have always been built from sheetmetal (nowadays I preffer aluminum sheetmetal)

Folding from sheetmetal usually makes things complicated, since most of the folding machines set geometrical restrainst to what you can do (ie. at least my workshops folders can't fold four walls, only three are possible). Also, if you're planning a chassis from folded sheet, depending on the material, the thickness is also a restraint for most folding machines.

With sheetmetal, connecting different chassis pieces together can also be difficult, if you're like me and don't like using corner brackets on all corners, and drill holes on every corner.

Jaypee, the M3 enclosures are very nicely done. In the next days, I'll try to do a case from sheetmetal, too. My main problem in the past was getting the screws to hold.
what are those shells called?

I had a hard time finding out their english name too, since I'm finnish

But after a quick googling session I think they're called "nut rivets" or "popnuts" check it out
