Yeah I asked my local shop to get the XL pads in for me... Just made a Blue Dragon cable with 4-pin XLR and Eidiolic HD800 connectors and wow made a huge difference IMO much more clearer forward Vocals cleans up the whole SQ compared to stock cable... I suppose it would depend on Amp etc also, But a huge improvement using my
Questyle-CMA12 IMO.....

The XL leather pads are also good for the Cascade, widens the perception of soundstage a bit, and I've found them more comfortable for my ears.

I'm also waiting on a 4.4-XLR adapter to use them balanced out from a Jotunheim2 I received earlier this week. I anticipate this may improve resolution and stage a bit further as well..
I also bought both of your extras. Very nice additions.

My headband is start to peeling off
I mean it's about time even I always use the cover. Any solution? I think it's hard to repair it by myself tho

Why not ask CFA? Take some pics and see what they say.

I would LOVE to change the headband!

Whilst I haven't had major issues with that headband.. yet, but I can't deny that it is the single worst aspect of the Cascade's overall construction. It could use a lot more padding, for one.

And the shape is just weird. It is, to me, shaped for someone with a football-shaped head. As in in Stewie Griffith.

I do LOVE the sound though. A decent headband would make them just about perfect, for my tastes.

Yeah, I've seen the unconventional headband on your Cascade. It looks weird, but I guess if it improves comfort, who are we to judge, right? :joy:

I just had to bend it hard as the pain was real. First time I ever had a headphone that Really hurt to wear.
The Dekoni Nuggets fixed that though.

I have since tried to remove some of the sharp angle with limited success.

PS: The HiFiman HE6se V2's hurt the top of my head almost as much. I have resisted the urge to bend anything and will likely use Nuggets on them too.

Hi,

What is the difference between Cascade MkI and MkII?

I fixed my headband (small head) like this. You can do it with more or less force of the elastic band. However after long sessions, like gaming for a few hours you do get a hot spot. However without this I could not even wear this headphone.

About the differences. There are none except for the logo and the filters.

How are these in terms of resolution? I had and sold the Mdr Z1R because I didn't think they sounded good enough for the price. I had thought the dt 1770 were better, but turns out they are not. I have z1r iems, so would want something equally resolving but bigger. They are nice but obviously sound small compared to over ear.

Thanks

You will get different responses, but I love them. I find them nice and clear with no bass bleeding into the mids. However many people feel differently so...YMMV.
