How long did your order take to complete? I like DHC's cables (I have one myself), but the build times can be notoriously long, from anecdotal experience.I started with the SXC 8 cable which is a true bass head cable. You feel the bass, but at the cost of details and highs. To me it sounds boomy and congested,
Recently I picked up a OCC sliver cable and it brings balance to the Cascade. The biggest change is you hear the bass instead of feeling it. Plus it restores the highs and mid details.

Thank you for your insight, I will look more into those options.
Please do the comparison, if you have the time. It would help me and many indecisive buyers
Will do! I will have them by the end of the week!

I actually have all 3 headphones; I might do a shootout between them at some point. I'll be sure to post the review/comparison here if I do.I have an Aeon 2 Closed coming in this week, and can do side by sides of both if you'd like! I found my Aeon 2 lightly used at 650 and Cascades can be found for 5 to 600 USD, despite me getting it new from CA...cuz it's just a feeling that you get being able to buy a CA product lol.
Off-hand, the Cascade is fantastic for bass, with a tangible mid-bass punch that can be overwhelming, if you're not prepared. However, fans of heavier lows will appreciate the sizeable hump. On the other end of the spectrum, treble has sizzle and presence, with good definition and sparkle. It is in the midrange where the sound takes a hit, with slightly scooped mids that cause vocals to lose some degree of authority.
With the LCD-2 Closed, you get a better blend of balance, warmth and great technical capabilities. It is leaner and brighter than the Cascade, with a less boomy low-end presence. Like any well-tuned planar, the Audeze delivers good impact; transients are fast, with quick decay. Its mids are more in-line with the rest of its sound, so it doesn't sound distant. It has the best resolving abilities of the 3, too.
Lastly, the AEON 2 Closed straddles the 2, with a north-of-neutral approach to its bass presentation, coupled with a slight uptick in its treble region, resulting in a slight "v-shaped" response. It has bass that are a little more textured than the LCD-2 Closed, but they still lack the sheer power provided by the Cascade's dynamic driver. The Dan Clark Audio has the most controlled treble of the headphones in this comparison.
If I have the time, I'll do a proper shootout. I'll keep you posted.

It is very nice of you For the moment, how would you describe the upgrade when going from MH40 (wired version) to Cascade, if you have tried or know about them of course? What kind of IEM you've heard of would match the Cascade's bass quality?

On their website they state "DHC is nearly caught up so wait times are shorter going forward!" My last order did come much quicker than the previous ones..How long did your order take to complete? Also looking at an iFi Zen Dac or iFi Audio Micro iDSD, since i love the Nano that I have.
If I may ask, would you be into desktop stuff more than portable, or the other way around?

OK then, you might want to wait three days more. If I were you, I really would
Sorry for off-topic folks

Looking forward
I've made that jump and 100% it's worth the money. The pads are larger and more comfortable, the sound is leagues different, the build is much better. Worth it. I actually like the more popular tuning on the M&D stuff but the Cascades are just . . . good.It is very nice of you For the moment, how would you describe the upgrade when going from MH40 (wired version) to Cascade, if you have tried or know about them of course? Why everything I read sounds so tempting Still, I need my next pay check to comfortably pull trigger on this biggest single audio purchase. In the mean time, I'm looking forwards to hearing more inputs from you guys.

The XL pads made a big difference for me (I have large ears).
at the time, the Cascade was the largest or second largest audio purchase I'd made; I didn't feel like it was worth it at first but then I came back after they burned in and I was blown away by the detail and versatility. They're not as detailed as the Clears or DT1990's or dynamic as high end planars but I'm not feeling like I'm missing out on the music or sound. I still own but don't use two wired MH40's because they're a really solid pop tuning, decent build, isolating enough, and kinda fashionable. If you're looking for the upgrade then these are it, they're tied with the Elegia as my favorite closed back can. That said, nobody should go into debt for audio, it''s not worth it, or it's worth waiting. Why everything I read sounds so tempting Still, I need my next pay check to comfortably pull trigger on this biggest single audio purchase. I've only had a cursory audition of the MH40, so I'm not well-suited to discuss its strengths and weaknesses vis-à-vis the Cascade. It is very nice of you For the moment, how would you describe the upgrade when going from MH40 (wired version) to Cascade, if you have tried or know about them of course? In any case, I have compared the Cascade, the Audeze LCD-2 Closed Back, and the Dan Clark Audio AEON 2 Closed here. Feel free to post questions here or in that thread. Thanks!

What I mean is this month I already threw a big chunk to upgrade my audio gears, I'd like to space it out a bit as I would have an option to audition a pair at the same bracket also. Yesterday I kinda felt a bit crazily funny after hooking up my 8 inch monitors because they look comically huge in my setup. But the sound pleasure is worth every penny. I am also a happy owner of MH40 so what you said just tempts me more .
Thank you a lot! I will check it.I've only had a cursory audition of the MH40, so I'm not well-suited to discuss its strengths and weaknesses vis-à-vis the Cascade.
