What I meant by shouty was exactly that. "forward in the mid-treble". It's not that detail retrieval in the system was weak because it was quite the opposite, however I felt that there were issues with volume balance in that frequency range. Those ranges seemed louder than normal while at the average normal listening volume across the whole band. I only heard 2-3 songs on the system too, so take that with a grain of salt. The main point I was making with my post was that I enjoyed the mid level setup better with the Planars I brought.

As for impressions, this was my first time hearing the Erupt and I can see why everyone's excited about it! Nice spacious headphone with very good detail. I was also surprised by how both relaxing and resolving the PM1 was, it's not an HD 800 but it was no slouch in the detail department either
