I am looking for replacement electrolytic capacitors for my RKV. I have been offered some SIC-SAFCO capacitors with the following data:

400V
380uF
ESR (100 Hz, 20°C): 140 mOhm
Z (10 kHz, 20°C): 90 mOhm
I (100 Hz) 40°C; 7.0 A
I (100 Hz) 105°C: 1.9 A

Expected lifetime:

8,000 hrs @ 105°C
> 100,000 hrs @ 40°C

Does that sound any good for use in the RKV?!? The physical dimensions are 30x45mm with a 10mm snap-in connector, so that should be OK.

Thanks for your thoughts!

some specs are looking better. You also increase the capacitance, which isn't bad. But it's difficult to say if they're gonna make a radical change. How expensive are they ? If it's reasonable, try to swap first in one channel and see if you like it better, there's no guarantee.

Thanks for the reply, Ben. I think I'll have them all exchanged at once. It is logistically impossible to use small steps; it's all or nothing. The normal price is approx. €20/piece, I was told. These were apparently a custom order built to very demanding specs. 380uF is not normally included in the catalogue, it seems.

EDIT: I am just a layman, but I was kind of impressed by the low ESR of 140 as compared to the specs that you posted some time ago (650 for BC caps and 440 for Rifa).

Did you ever install these Audyn caps you got off eBay?
