I want to change some capacitors on a tube tuner. The one’s on the tuner are Wima and the value written on them is 1.0uf 400VDC. I would like to swap them with some Jenson PIO copper foil. I have been on their site and the closet is 1.0uf 630VDC, could I use these? If not, any recommendations of a good cap with that value.

Thanks

No problems with using higher voltage caps.

Simply changing different caps isn't usually a great idea, grab the schematic or at least figure out exactly what position that cap is in and then figure out if you want to change it. Signal path caps - definitely change, but if it's simply a bypass or something like that, no point in going with PIO.

there was a recent thread in asylum about Audionote pio caps breaking down. Audionote caps are made by jensen and it seems they don't tolerate a hot environment. so it the inside of the chassis is warm, it might be best to avoid it.

Peter of audionote has confirmed what I said above.
