I cannot remove the filters from my Etymotic ER4S. I've done this several times before, but they seem to be stuck inside the earphone. I have the filter removal tool (the new one- I lost the original one)- but it doesn't seem to get a good grip. Suggestions?

I don't have needle nose pliers nearly small enough for that- I doubt they exist. THese things are super tiny.

I called Etymotic- I'm just going to RMA them.

You could try bending over a small sewing needle or a pin, just enough to allow it to pass down the middle of the filter and dig it in the side of the filter. You may be able to get enough grip to allow you to pull it out of the barrel.

You can try a very small drill bit.
