CanJam is tomorrow and we're looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!

But first some housekeeping!

Warwick Acoustics Aperio + Aperio GoldenSound Edition Private Listening

For anyone looking to listen to the Warwick Acoustics Aperio and Aperio GoldenSound Edition, we have a private room for listening. Sign up here https://app.greminders.com/c/golden-sound

We've got a packed line-up as usual for the show but we do have a sad announcement that our usual Zahl HM1 will not be present as unfortunately it was mishandled during it's last shipment and is off to Germany for repair.

B&K 5128-C
As mentioned previously in this thread, we will have a B&K 5128-C for live show floor measurements of all your favourite gear. Bring as many headphones as you want measured and @listenerwww , @Resolve @MadEconomist , @GoldenSound and DMS will be there to measure and chat!

Vendors at our Booth

Both the teams from 64 Audio as well as HEDD Audio will be joining Headphones.com at our booth. It's going to be a packed affair so if you have any questions for either 64 Audio or HEDD Audio or want to hear anything from their line-up (or look at the new re-vamped U12t and U18t), Headphones.com will be the place to stop by!

CanJam started early for some of us with pre-pre-show events today..

In the morning, we set up a visit to the Technica House, @Audio-Technica ‘s new space in Manhattan, to demo the NARU amp. It was a real treat!

We then had a visit with the owner of Viva Audio. We got to listen to an amazing 2 channel system, as well as the jew Credenza system in another room, a complete speaker and headphone system, that includes the Belva headphone amp. The Susvara sounded great out of that one!

Currently heading into the Blue Note to hear Esperanza Spalding with my good friends @RTodd @Frankie D @HiFiHawaii808 ans @buke9 . What a day!!

It’s finally here! CanJam New York 2025 starts tomorrow and we can’t wait to see everyone again this year.

We’re still finalizing our available demo headphones, at the moment we’ll have the STAX SR-X9000, HIFIMAN’s Susvara OG & Unveiled, the Meze Liric II in addition to a few more. We will once again be sharing a room with the outstanding team from Dan Clark Audio, so we’ll have their current modern production line up available.

On our table we’re excited to show case our CFA 3 headphone amp & Blue Hawaii Special Edition Electrostatic Headphone Energizer alongside the Grimm MU2 Streamer & Roon Core and two Mytek Brooklyn Bridge II DACs. We’ll also have our GS-X Mini & GS-X MK2 alongside an iFi iDSD Diablo 2 for those looking for something transportable.

Safe travels to all in the air or on the road today and here’s to hoping we all get to enjoy some delicious Pizza this weekend!

:astonished: !!! This will be the biggest CanJam highlight for me since the year Smyth came with their whole surround setup and took HRTF measurement with the promise of providing it on the device they deliver to me (let's not belabor the disappointment that came years since with a few thousand $ lost by never getting the gear promised and paid for... but I digress).

I had been debating which headphone I'd be bringing to audition equipment, out of my very best and favorite in regular rotation on my head. Now I know I'm bringing three if not four! lol With one of them to be reconfigured and modded 'live' while there for re-measurement to get empirical data on the actual effect of the mod. I guess I can & should spread them out over the two days. Are IEMs part of this offering?

BTW, a few years ago I got one of the best hp / audio et al related t-shirt from you guys; at least I think it was you, hoping I'm not wrong (edit: ah yes, that is your company logo at the top, so definitely you :) ). Wearing it right now, lol. Any new offerings like this going to be available again this year?

Will CanJam NYC impressions be posted here or will there be a separate thread as there has been in years past?

I’d keep it simple one solid dynamic (Meze 109, Focal Clear), a planar (Ananda Nano, Arya), and a high-end pick (Susvara, Aperio). Maybe a studio-neutral option (HD 800S) since they mix. Quality over quantity!
Thanks!

So the two options for the audio newb friends are now...

1. Keep it simple, demo a few headphones and iems.
2. Overwhelm them by demoing everything... by the time they put the headphone on and find a song, their time is up.

I'm leaning into option 2.

It's definitely going to be in its own thread. There is a forum section dedicated to impressions , to keep things tidy. This one will be locked and link provided to that thread.

Indeed. This initial thread is mostly for posting photos of pizza.

If anyone is interested in catching the Liverpool-Man City match on Sunday at 11:30am, pm me. There’s a great pub down the street from the Marriott.

To any 'insider' to the goings on behind the scenes of CanJam planning .... can anyone provide a few words about why one of the oldest players and fairly well known names in headphones (and phono cartridges), Grado, who are famously located just the next borough over, across the east river from where CanJam takes place, never attends this show?

@msing539 that recommendation you got the other day of starting with your friend in the ZMF room, and I'll add the DCA room too, is sound. Given your friend's sensitivity to peaky highs. There are more than one offering from both manufacture to fit the bill. And number of components to drive them that will be packed into those listening rooms will be very significant, diverse, and high quality too (not that there is a lacking of 'high quality' anywhere, at all, lol).

I'm bringing a friend who had a past playing unamplified instruments, has only been exposed to 'consumer' headphones until now, and has never been to anything like this. I'm very happy I was able to convince him to attend Sunday (he bought a ticket online, so no take-backs, lol). This is what I'm doing with his initiation and early visit.

Possibly! I was going to watch it on my phone but maybe I can catch a half at the bar.

I’m not an insider, but I do see Grado listed as an exhibitor
