I have some OPA2604 in the drawer and I am thinking: can I use them to build a Pimeta-like circuit using one half for buffer?
The idea crossed my mind seeing Levallois-cmoy amp and 2604 datasheet

The opa604 doesn't have a lot of current drive. It would be a good thing to use one half as gain stage and then two halves paralleled as buffer stage.

Something like that?

yes, but add a resistor at the output of each of the paralleled section.

If you get a qualitative gain, it could be by loading less the gain stage opamp, reducing its temperature.
