To Ross: I wonder why you say Quality Hi Fi are untrustworthy? Though I don't like the proprietor much, I've never found them anything but honest. If you've had a different experience I'd like to hear about it.

PP312, the people at Quality Hi Fi have lied to me about products several times, they have tried to pass off older models as being current, and I know of at least one case where they have refused to honour a promise to a customer. I only buy things from them if I can't get it somewhere else, and only buy something if I know exactly what I want, what it looks and sounds like, and how much it should cost.

For the Melbourne folk:

Beyer pro-headphones:

Try Factory Sound in South Melbourne - a pro-audio store but really cool guys. Got my Beyer pads thru them.

Koss KSC-50s:

Got mine from Denman Audio (Swanston Walk...in between the two errrm..."adult" shops). Also seen cheaper at Borders Books in Chadstone $45 vs $60 at Denman.

Philips HP890:

As has been said, can be ordered from ost electrical retailers. I have seen them in stock at HMV in Chadstone - $150

Sony MDR 7506

Soundcorp in Fairfield $220 www.soundcorp.com.au

Grado:

Audiophile in North Fitzroy: www.audiophile.com.au

AKG and Sennheiser:

Carlton Audio Visual. www.carltonaudiovisual.com.au

Sennheiser:

Nearly everywhere...even JB HiFi.

Oh...and Planar...did you get my PM???

by the way, both Myer and David Jones have HP890. I got it on Friday. to be honest...I am disappointed with it. Jan Meier said it is nearly as good as HD600. but I really don't think so.

the stage is good..but that is it..

however, it is very good for gaming and movie, which serves my Sony MD5100 very well.

Hi Planar,

I sent you a PM on Saturday, but you may not have your preferences set-up to accept PMs.

Following up from your posting where you expressed dissatisfaction with the Grado SR60s, I was wondering whether you might be interested in selling them. If you can't get your PMs working, try my email:

60 is more comfortable.. hmmm....
