Does anyone know if it is possible to hook up balanced headphones into the balanced outputs on a cd player that has a built in preamp/volume control?

In particular I have an Audio Aero Capitole mkII se cd player with the preamp section.

Headphones are:

Grado 325is
Sennheiser hd650
Akg k702
HifiMan he-400

Just curious, and don't want to try it without some idea of what might happen.

Thanks

Also,

The Audio Aero can output up to 5.O Volts RMS.
Has 100 ohm output impedance.

I am interested in getting to know my headphones better, and figure removing my headphone amp from the equation would remove a big variable.

Is this just a stupid idea?  I don't know how to interpret the stats of the audio aero concerning the headphones I have.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

It may have those two specs - voltage and impedance - but it's not necessarily producing the same signal as an amplifier. I forgot the technical explanation for it, but basically it isn't producing a signal primarily measurable in (mili)watts, which is what you need for transducers. So basically, I wouldn't try it unless a more technical guy says its safe.
