They were my choice too until I tried Pentaconn's Coreir
Yeah I tried those and they hurt my ears for some reason. They are the only tips that do. The Divinus are the most comfortable I've found and sound the best to me.

Probably because the metal core has no give so wedges harder against your ear canal as it narrows.

I like the Coreir but found exactly the same thing. Great for an hour, not so much all day.

Anyone interested in a Solaris 2020, mine is for sale at a great price, with a nice extra cable as well.

what are you funding
TSMR X and about 3-4 cables! Solaris was a sorta lark buy, giving CFA one more shot, but their DNA just doesn't quite match mine, however nice.

Does anyone know of some good, relatively inexpensive, reusable cable ties for IEMs? Ideally something with a snap closure. Im not a super big fan of the Velcro loops that came with my Andros because they tend to snag on the little mesh bag that separates the IEMs.

Thanks! :)

Silicone, always silicone. Can’t bear the thought of IEMs getting inadvertently scuffed by a snap closure. And I stopped using Velcro several years ago for the same reason as you.

There are many variants on AE but these are the ones I picked up most recently.

Going back-and-forth between the CA Black Star and Sony IER-Z1R is quite interesting. The BS* is more neutral than the Z1R. Think IE 600 vs IE900 or CA Andro Gold vs. CA Ara. The intangible of technical ability / presentation are right there with the Z1R or surpassing. The midrange is where the BS* shines over the Z1R* - more natural in my opinion. The neutrality is up to your tastes though. The BS* and Z1R* are both laidback enough to fall asleep with and not have fatigue. Good venting systems plus relatively solid timbre. BA's are in there on both, but the BS* might hide this better than the Z1R* - only because of the Z1R midrange tonality to treble transition is noticeable. Both of these are keepers.

I'm afraid I'd have to go with the Trifecta if I wanted the dynamics + air movement to get the 'live' sensation. Currently the IE 900 might do that best for me in my current stable. the Audeze LCD-i4 does it, but that is not a fair fight.

Inspired by this thread I went and bought the Andromeda 2020 - was initially weirded out by the far from neutral presentation but they eventually won me over. They survived a recent IEM cull that saw me sell Monarch MK2 and U12t, which says a lot.
Spotted an Ara for sale at a good price the other day and went for it - looking forward to the shootout between these two IEMs.

Question - these are notoriously sensitive IEMs, what in people's opinion / experience is the best portable DAC/amp to drive them with the lowest noise floor (no DAPs as I use my phone as a source)?
