Have been using the Andromeda 2020 for close to 1 year and wanting to see how much improvement in bass the Solaris can get me.

Got the Solaris last Saturday and my first impression is that Andromeda and Solaris are two different incomparable animals, not just the bass but the entire sound profile. Solaris pulls everything closer and adds “meat” across the spectrum, while Andromeda adds “juice” instead. Personally I think Andromeda is better for long listening sessions as juice is easier to digest than meat :) , therefore work or study are the ideal scenes. Solaris is for music listening, don’t try to multitask with it, you will waste all the meat it adds to the music.

My 2 cents, more thoughts to come after further burn-in.

A few updates:

1. For some reason my hears hurt when having a longer (~1hr) listening session. Not sure if it’s due to the size or the weight of the IEM. As suggested in other reviews I am going to rotate a few different ear tips to see if it helps.

2. After about 20 hrs of burning up + listening, the bass became less aggressive and that helps present a more well balanced sound profile.

3. I don’t know if I will give up my Andromeda or not. Currently both of them are hooked up to a Mojo so I can switch between them depending on the music.

Will update again on the result of ear tip rotation.

I just received my first pair of Campfire Audio IEMs, the Solaris 2020. Pairing with my Mojo I am just blown away by the sound quality and presence. Granted, I have only listened to them for a few hours, but as my first high end set of IEMs, I am amazed. I need to spend some time with finding the right tips, but my initial impressions are very positive. I also have initially found them to be very comfortable and not ‘large’ feeling at all. I am really looking forward to getting to know them better.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the Solaris.

Instead of starting a new thread it's better to place impressions like these in the dedicated Solaris thread to keep all the discussion localized in one spot and thus easier to track down later for future reference.

Ok. Thanks. I am still learning the protocols here. I appreciate the feedback.

Have you guys tried cable swapping with the Andro's? Curious, because I too love my 2020 Andro (think I'm enjoying them more than the U12t), but wanting to see if a cable swap will enhance music even more?
