No, its ground to course, and I have a conical burr grinder. I've read others say that it doesn't matter what you do, the grounds will be there which is what gives it the rich flavor. But I've heard others state that they don't have this problem.
Its pretty confusing, but there are options such as press pots with double filtering or using a paper filter after pressing, etc. I just don't drink the bottom part.
