Burson has just announced two new Conductor models. This time it seems that Conductor family got a little brother too. :)

I have a pair of Meze Empyreans. Does anyone have the experience or a well-advised opinion as to whether I would hear any 'hiss' when there is no music playing through the 3P connected into the Empys?

I've read that with the 3R/XR such hiss can be heard due to the high wattage even in low gain mode. I realize the 3P/XP has lower wattage so this hiss, I am assuming, is less likely.

For the record, users/reviewers note that the 3R/XR hiss is not audible during actual music playback.

Thanks!

At a double price over Topping dc7 pro, what is it you are getting with Burson?
I don't know as I can't compare. My Burson Conductor 3XR is sublime at the price. I have a topping D10 new in box I could compare but that's not really fair. I do know that my AK SP1000M is a close competitor to the C3XR, but that AK is AU$3500, well that was RRP when I bought it but I got it for AU$1750. That was a steal.

My Chord Qutest/Sparko Aries combo is a step up from the Burson but it's significantly more expensive.

The chassis on my recently purchased Burson Conductor 3X Reference says "Designed by Burson Audio Australia". It does not say "Made in Australia" anywhere on the chassis or on the box. More tellingly, the amp arrived with a Certificate of LVD Compliance (this is a requirement for the EU) that indicates that the manufacturer is Shenzhen Lianyunda Electronic Co., Ltd.

I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with these amps being made in China and I am very happy with the sound and build quality (enough so that I just bought Conductor 3X Performance for a second listening location). It might also explain the rather sparse and error-prone user manual.

The certificate is for the external power supply.

Looks pretty similar THD on 3XP with the one I measured here on 3X Reference: https://cdn.head-fi.org/a/10416093.png (full review here: https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/burson-conductor-3x.24156/reviews#review-23194). The best channel I measured was having a THD of -95.47% @- 3.93 dB @ 1 kHz, while the 3XP measured by Roman seems to have a THD of -94.9% @ -3 dB @ 1 kHz.

It's great that we have more measurements done, so we can compare what we listed to with how the device actually measures.
Yes, indeed, pretty close THD measurements.
I found especially interesting the section where Roman measured different digital audio filters, including the impulse and step response. It was somewhat surprising to see that literary all filters have high aliasing. While the aliasing is common with slow filters, like LP slow and MP slow, it is rather unexpected with steep filters like AP fast, LP fast and MP fast. Looks like somewhat unusual implementation of the ES9038 chip.

You can't. Only the reference series can I'm pretty sure.
