How long do RS2s take to "burn in"?
What changes are made?

When I burned in mine it took about 200 hours. Basically the highs became less shrill, that is IMO they were tamed (mellowed). The bass tighten and became firmer and punchier (lost any flabbiness they might have had). I believe they became clearer and more focused.

Yeah I am noticing that I am hearing a bit more details and everything is overall cleaner, but there is still some shrillness on some recordings. Hopefully this will go away somewhat.
Will flats alleviate this? What are the disadvantages of the flats?

I agree that the bass does tighten up alot. The hp will tame itself (shrillness will go bye-bye), although I still feel that even new out of the box the RS-2 is the warm ,fuzzy, loveable Grado
