Hi.
My ATH-M50s are in the mail and I was wondering how I should burn them in. White noise? Pink noise? And also, how loud should it be?

P.S. if I burn them in too long will it have negative effects?

I use a mix of white and pink noise at the level I usually listen to headphones at. I wouldn't use noise that was too loud as you might damage the drivers. Normally I burn them in for between 50-100 hours before use.

Burn in is psychological ritual.
 
The M50's will sound like M50's from day 1 to day 365.
 
There is no negative affect to playing audio through them. They're built to do that.

Just go listen to them. From day one.
