I'm putting together a Crack (wish I'd paid for assembly) and accidentally burned off the insulation on wires running from the RCA jacks to the pot. Since the exposed wires aren't touching anything will they be alright or do I need to redo them? Thanks.

They'll be fine.

If you want, you can get some "liquid electrical tape" and brush a bit on, but really it's just a cosmetic issue.

That's nothing.  Like SE said, you'll be fine.

You should have seen the wires when I wired my heaters wrong on a tube amp and turned it on... they were very melty.  Now those had to be replaced.

You haven't seen melting insulation until you accidentally short two 100 amp hour deep cycle marine batteries connected in parallel. 16 gauge teflon insulated wire and the insulation was hanging off the wire like rags from a hobo...

It might be overkill, but I replace wires with melted insulation. Only takes a few minutes and I like to keep it clean.

This is also why I pay extra for Teflon wire. A slip of the iron won't melt it.
