I also noticed this, and there were edit options for a post which wasn't mine and a few other strange things in that topic.

The words seem to be repeated blocks of text, each in a 1px by 1px span element, and contained within a div that has an id attribute of user_cke_pastebin, so something to do with this WYSIWYG editor. When you quote reply the offending post, you do actually get the layered text if you look at the source view, but it has different style attributes so that it's positioned way off the left of the screen.

This is a bug in the editor which will be fixed whenever they release the next version.  In the meantime, we're filtering these out server-side so they don't display.
