With these installed, you enable hi rez mode by going to Audio Deck->Digital Out->Enable High Sample Rate

About the buzz problem, it's a Windows mixer bug, not a problem with the card. It happens on all 96khz or above playback with Envy chipsets on Windows.

Yep thats what i got, when i install that one i get an access error for audio deck, so i decided to unistall that one and use the one on the CD, audio deck works, but no sound, and i dont get any sound with the one from viaarena either.. i used high sample rate and everything

Did you read what I wrote about switched outputs? 2 channel regular and 2 channel hi rez are on different outputs.

Are you using kernel streaming? If you're using kernel streaming you have to use 32 bit output, otherwise it will freeze.

kernel streaming will not work for me

the error that appears is:

ERROR (foo_out_ks) : KS output error: error opening device.

i have enabled high rate sampling and set it to 32-bit sampling, still no good

So which version are you using now?
What OS are you using? Without enabling the hi-res mode do you get any sound?
What MP3 player?

In Control Panel -> Sounds and Multimedia -> Audio, is the preferred playback device set to the Envy ? Is the output setting for your MP3 player also set to Envy?

Are you resampling to 96000 HZ? If you're not it won't work.

Plug it into Alt Center. (check the manual to see where that is) It's the only active output in hi rez mode.

thanks ADS, that solved my problem.

[edit] not entirely, it now works with the analog out, but kernal streaming still doesn't work with the S/PDIF out.
