Futureshop.ca has the Sony 670 SACD player for $200 CDN - supposed to be the same basic player as the 775 but single disc. I use a 775 with an ASL MG Head and Sennheiser 600's. Haven't listened to it too much with redbook so its no-where near broken in but so far its pretty good. Actually, this combo sounds so amazing with SACD that I might not bother with redbook for a while.
