Can I use any microUSB cable to charge my Astell & Kern?

I think I recall hearing about some incompatibilities. Is that only for data transfer, or also power?

That was only for file transfer with mac. You can charge with any cable.

yeah but pay attention this is only my feedback with iems, while with my audeze lcd2 its not applicable at all, and somehow i find my lcd2s distorts with bass settings, i do not know with other headphones as my lcd2 drove me crazy anyway with most portable amps

Thanks again. I'm now looking for portable amps to solely power IEMs - I haven't touched most of my cans in a long, long while. Besides, most of them don't even need amping.

He said digital out, not headphone out. The only limitations to USB out ought to be the DAC you're sending to.

Thats how it is for Android devices, at least. Apple shouldn't be any different.

I'm talking about digital output of course
Here is the specs of the Theorem for example: https://www.cypherlabs.com/products/theorem-720-dac/

That blue light on HUGO is 192 KHz. iPhone 5 -> Lightning CCK -> USB -> Hugo

Hey guy is it worth to upgrade from AK100ii to AK120ii?

If you need more storage, and use balanced cables (taking full advantage of the Dual DAC), the 120ii is said to be a clear step up.

I haven't heard the 100, so I can't confirm this. The AK120ii is wonderful, though.

I really like the AK100ii. I use balanced on it and enjoy the sound. I would consider going up two levels but not sure I would one level.

That's why I chose not to go with the N6. Sound quality might have been a good upgrade, but size and UI are a step backwards.

The AK120ii is a few steps up in every way. :)

How can you say that if you've never heard the AK100ii?

I was talking about an upgrade to my X5.

I'm typing on my phone, and my editing got messy, hence the screwed up quote.

Oh hm I see. Sorry, I was really confused with what you've said. I had the X5 before too but I'm perfectly happy with the RSA Intruder + AK100ii for now. I had an urge to get the AK240 but decided on an amp that can drive full sized cans instead. Maybe the 240 will be be a matter of time to keep my portable setup slim but I'm going to keep the RSA, no doubt. My cans sounds so good with it.

Well the 120ii does have the same insides as the 240 except that the 240 has more memory so it probably is, considering you can find it at a good price. The 120ii and 240 are not far apart new but used, it's a couple of hundred which may be something to consider.

Here's the contact phone number for iRiver USA support: (949) 336-4535.  That's their regional office in Irvine, California, so naturally you need to time your phone call appropriately.  In my experience the phone number has been the most reliable way to reach a human being about support issues.

As long as the player is still under warranty, and the company your friend bought it from is an authorized dealer, they should help you out.  You'll probably at minimum need a copy of the original receipt from your friend, but I can't speak for what they'll ask for.
