But it's a shame they can't just release a new version at the same price. We don't really complain the new smartphones are getting more expensive, for the most part every iphone costs the same as the last one.

I can't imagine why they chose that shape honestly, if the volume control was more recessed, it'd make sense, but other than making grabbing it from your pocket and not touching the screen? Who knows.

Here in Oztralya the 120 II is $2349 and the 100 II is $1249... Seems expensive to me. What pricing have you guys seen around ?

The iriver estore has the ak120ii listed for sale at $1,699. No ak100ii price listed yet.

Don't know why au stores are so expensive compared to US pricing. Will have to wait for estores, that ship to au, to get the new aks into stock.

  I picked up my AK120 II in Hongkong yesterday and I understand it is available in 3 locations currently via Broadway (One of the largest electronics distributor in Hong Kong) For specific locations check www.broadway.com.hk  The 3 stores are in Times Square, Causeway Bay and Mong Kok.
 
Prices:  AK120 II - HKD13,800:  AK100 II - HKD6,980  (For reference, AK240 silver is HKD20,800 and the limited edition gold colour HKD24,800)

I agree & I'm very tempted to purchase one.
Just waiting on some more reviews than perhaps some opinions on the ak100ii vs the ak120 & which is the better buy.
For now we keep waiting
