It was a long time ago, but I had the same thing happen once or twice with my unit. I think I had to turn it on and off a few times, and plug in the headphones before starting to play any music, to get the optical out to turn off.

Still doesn't work. Should I buy optical cable and try to plug in and change it to my normal headphone jack?

Means your optical receiver in your dap is dirty, you might wanna use a blower to blow it out if still cannot, u can use a small cotton bud dip with one drop of IPA and clean the lens.

I managed to get a mint condition 1-year old AK100ii for $240USD.

Loving it so far, but is it normal for the battery to drain from 98% to 65% overnight? I have the bluetooth and wifi off.

Well, I didn't turn it off and let it idle overnight and it drained over 43%.

I just updated to the latest firmware, and all of a sudden the AK100ii won't read my micro SD card anymore! (Sandisk 200GB). It keeps saying "damaged SD card". When I connect the card to the computer it doesn't show any errors, and all the files are there. Does anyone else have this issue? is there a solution?

Perhaps try reformatting the micro-SD card? Or resetting the AK100ii into factory default.

You have to format it using FAT32. It doesn´t work long when it´s formatted in exFAT.

I found a way to get rid of the delay when using the DAC on a mac. You can open the application Audio MIDI Setup (in /Applications/Utilities) and you can choose a higher quality format there. Currently set it to 2ch 24-bit 96,0 kHz and that got rid of the delay. Finally able to watch YouTube or movies with my ak100ii!
