Bowers & Wilkins P7 - over the ear headphones

Can anyone else comment about the sound leakage on these at medium-to-medium high volumes (50% to 75% volume on an unamped Galaxy S III)? I have read multiple reviews from legit websites/people, and almost all of them listed the sound leakage as an issue with these headphones. That leads me to believe that it may be a real problem with these headphones.

Thanks.

MMMmmm bizarre I lay next to my partner listening at 60% - 80% on my S3 and there is VERY little bleed and she can sleep without hearing what i'm listening to.

Truth is, there is no sound leakage at all. My brother put on the headphone right beside me and its silent. You can hear a pin drop, the seal is very good IMO. So unless the person has a irregular shaped head and cant get a tight seal then yea you are going to have sound leakage if not the room is going to be perfectly silent when you use them.

Thanks for the info guys, I really appreciate it. I am not really able to test sound leakage myself right now, and I was just afraid of getting in to a setting where leakage will be a problem, but then having it end up being too late for me to return or exchange the headphones.

Just so that people don't think I'm crazy (or trolling), I posted links below to some reviews that either stated bad isolation or sound leakage (or both) as an issue with the B&W P7s.

OK, but doesn't the sound quality always get better when you improve the hardware and source? Why would something "scale well "?

I doubt $20 throwaway earbuds will sound any different with a high quality DAC+amp vs straight out of an iPod. Something that scales "well" has a much bigger improvement with better gear, whereas something that doesn't scale well is has its own technical limitations that prevent it from performing better after a certain point.

In my experience leakage is minimal, but isolation is just about average or slightly better than average for a closed headphone. I'm totally spoiled after demoing the Bose QC20 lol

I have experienced leakage from P7 when my friend was listening to it nex to me in a quiet room. The volume was about 70% on an iPod Classic. It was certainly noticable. However I wonder whether it was because she wasnt wearing it property and did not have a good fit.

Just bought a pair of these for university after saving up for a while (and joined head-fi as a result!). I am no audio enthusiast but there is a huge amount of detail that I can suddenly hear over the XB500's they are replacing. I have a feeling that I am still used to the Sonys though as the P7's are sounding flat at times to me, is this expected or is that because I am only listening to music from youtube on a laptop and am used to heavy bass coming through my headphones?

I think the latter is true......

Anyone know whether anyone is doing a custom cable for these headphones?
