Besides Black and Tan, hi-fi-klubben is showing a third color in the normal Line-up (excluding McLaren and 007) there is no picture of it and it says it will drop 15. of august, maybe we will get a third standard colorway.

I have a feeling that will be the case for me as well, B&W and Dali are my favorite manufacture of speakers and if Dali Io-12 is as good as they promise they will join B&W as my favorite closed back portable cans.

I hope the IO-12 will be the Bernie to PX8s Ernie.

Back in the day I used B&W P5S2 and B&O H6 as my portable Ernies and Bernies, as they complemented each other well.

The problem I have is that in America, the IO-12's are $1499, versus $999 in Europe. They have to be super good for that price, mind blowing.

Thats like 2 PX8’s. We may be lucky with a better price from the Dali in Norway, but what made the PX8 such a good buy here was that it costs very close to 699usd here, actually a little less 650 usd( 6999kr) while the focal bathys cost 930 usd here (9999kr) instead of 799usd. So a 300 usd difference to your 100usd difference, isnt that funny?

I miss the days our Norwegian currency was strong and 1 dollar was around 5-8 kroner (2008-2019) instead of the now 10,80 kroner, a rise of 116% from the stronger NOK/weak USD in 2008, and 55% from the usual 7 kroner with strong NOK and stable USD.

No app bothers me. Which means no eq or anything so again, I’d have to love love the sound straight out of the box. We shall see.

Just got a new phone - Sony Xperia 1 V, so finally have access to aptx adaptive natively. However, the B&W app is not connecting to the PX8. The app sees the headphones and gets as far as asking for the swipe up on the power button. A tick appears, then the spinning wheel and then it says Bluetooth connection lost. Headphones are connected to the phone and play media ok.

Any ideas?

It’s not going to be Sony’s top end ANC solution as found in the XM5, it’s their lower range ANC chipset they resell. They keep the high end stuff for themselves. There’s a fair few manufacturers using Sony’s ANC (I believe the ML5909 and MW75 do too) over the usual Qualcomm SoC

You could try resetting the headphones and remove them from the phones BT device list.

This is a common issue sadly. If you have a spudger you can push it back in.
