Hahha what a joke. At least he did say all he listens to is his iPod, so I guess thats better than spending the "$700" for a HD650 an cables.

On another note: Why do people still go to CNET? That site is FILLED with comments like the OP posted.
Some of the actual CNET reviews are just as bad as the Bose comment. I looked up my tv on there once for giggles, an the actual CNET reviewer said "The speakers on this TV are not loud enough"....seriously? has he ever owned a TV before?

their top 5 headphones overall:
Best 5 headphones - CNET Reviews

and top full-size headphones:
Best full-size headphones - CNET Reviews

Bose is mentioned once, Skull Candy appears zero times, Grado, Ultrasone, and Sennheiser each appear twice, Denon once, but no "they're just shills that support overpriced hype products"

I was agreeing with you up until i viewed those two headphone link reviews from CNET. Bose Q3 and a bluetooth jabra headphone in their top 5 headphones? And sony mdr-v700's?... they are the worse headphone i've ever tried. Complete garbage.

the QC3 was Best Headphone in Category: Noise Cancelling Headphones

and the Jabra thing was Best Headphone in Category: Best Portable Wireless Headset

I don't think either were seriously reviewed for sound quality in regards to critical listening, and neither really has that much competition (I think theres what? two or three companies that make noise cancelling headphones (Bose, Sennheiser, Audio-Technica, can't think of any others), and maybe a handful that make bluetooth headsets? (Sony, Jabra, no clue beyond that))

I know, but it irks me when people think their new HDTV comes with built in 400.1 Surround Sound w/ 5000000 watts

Ahh... i didn't realize that the 'top 5 headphones' category was specifically for noise canceling and bluetooth headphones. I guess when there's little to no competition in a category, you cans suck and still be the best.

LIB = let it be ?

I find cnet useful at times. checking sar rating on phones/reading up on some of their reviews (though considerably less, to never now). The reviews are helpful, at times, when you take into account the application for which they're meant for. As with most any review, take it with a grain of salt and be sure to check additional sources too.

I would loved to have had a bose QC2/3 for the airplane rides last summer, would have made it much easier for me to get some sleep in.
