Hello,

I just purchased the QC35 today and love them so far, my one concern is the ear cups seem to have no resistance when they rotate. This is a situation where there should be a small amount of resistance?

Any one else have this issue?

Does anybody in here know how to get sidetone with QC35 and iPhone7+ - or is that simply impossible?

If it is impossible I want my Jabra MS65 back :frowning2: :frowning2:

I don't think I ever got it to work with my Note 3, if it was working it was so subtle that to me it wasn't working...
This 'talk-through' feature is also available with the PXC550 and it actually works well. You can also invoke it by a double-tap on the ear-pad to allow ambient room noise/conversations etc without removing them...

"DISTANT" is the best description of how they sound at lower volumes. Is this really the Bose signature sound ? The lows are not that distant but the mids and the highs are.
QC 35 users, try these with the cable connect and let me know if you feel they sound better.

Heres why i have bought the Bose QC35.
My Job consist in dealing with all kinds of causal and Business travellers, and every week or so im also using a comercial flight.

Almost every week in past 6 months i chat with someone that have purchase some certain brand of headphones, i approach them and ask their feedback about the product they are using.

For regular listeners/travellers (non-audiophiles) their impressions about noise-cancelling headphone is something of amazing, it allows quietness, and now they can listen music in much lowered volume.
Whether is bose or any other brand, very often they try to describe the sound & music has being something audiophile, not to justify the price the pay for the headphones, but in the way they are really enjoying the music and are happy with the product.
The most important feature and requirements that this travellers had given most importance in set of headphones is being durable, wired free, rigid box, battery and noise cancellation.
Most of this travellers i talk to they use causal MP3, Spotify or the usual compressed music using in their android or apple smartphone.

For serious listeners (audiophiles) has being comum to found them with 2 sets of headphones, one with noise cancellation to travel, in flights, trains, subway etc, and other set of cans for serious listening at home.
Their general opinion about Bose QC35 is that their sound quality are forgivable with cd-quality files while travelling, the noise cancellation helps while they wait in crowed lounges.
Most of the audiophiles i talk to, recommended me other sets to listen at home, like the Audeze Sine and Oppo PM3, in this price range was good option, they could be used for travelling with certain limitations in noise isolation.
For travel QC25, QC35, Sony MDR-1000X they rank them among the best, and they can also have good sound with high-resolution files, one funny guy compared the QC35 has the nice local restaurant away from home, not the usual airport fast-food and the Audeze Sine the Mummy`s Home made food on the Go.

Since at home the surround cinema/stereo are my first choice for listening, I've bought the QC35 but i was very tempted to purchase the Audeze Sine.
I will give more impressions about them in the future.

Thanks @satir i will try to listen the Mr.Speaker Ether

So far the best headphones I have lucky to listen was in some Audiophile Audioshow event (2016)  the Sennheiser Orpheus with their amplifier mounted in marble chassis.

It was something incredible experience because the event was in 19th century Hotel with large Rooms, I enter in this room without knowing what was the Sennheiser Orpheus or even their price, i just listen like any other normal Headphones...
Oh boy, oh Boy,  the Sennheiser Orpheus what happens next was crazy... was the best 10 minutes of music ever listen through this ears..... only in the end of the experience the Sennheiser representative at the show explain me what was the Sennheiser Orpheus.

The Sennheiser Orpheus amazing experience truly affect me the rest of the Audioshow, because everything i listen afterwards sounds bad, not even porno systems like the Stenheim Reference Ultime was enjoyable.

Well, I have three Bluetooth connections showing, but only one - the headphone, is active, and close to me. The other ones are not even anywhere in the vicinity. They are miles away. Does that make a difference?

Don't you all think that the sound should have good punch at lower volumes (40%-70%) ?
Even when watching a youtube video, i feel that when the volume is under 70, its not clear and when i increase the volume its louder than required for a video but its clear.
I'm not sure if i've been able to explain myself well !

UPDATE:
Mine got fixed (Im sure its temporary) on their own after using them on the iPhone for a voice call and then back to mac for youtube/music.  My Bose has its internal volume working and is not controlling my Mac, Bose is on full and mac is on at about 20%-30% volume and its PERFECT, i can listen to music on 20%-30% without it sounding "DISTANT"
Bose service centre says Bose controls device volume and doesn't have its own volume (and it usually works that way), Bose replied on my amazon review to increase the QC35 volume and Device volume both to get the true max volume (But that usually never happens !!) the volume rockers control the iDevice, except for right now when its working like should.
Bose has a software problem and they are denying it.
I feel so bad for people who have returned the headphones saying they are not loud enough and don't have the "punch".
If they listed to my QC35 right now (when both volumes are getting adjusted separately) you will never return them !

I have emailed Bose and they have not responded, What do you guys think ?

THIS IS SERIOUS

Yes I can confirm the QC35's will go very loud, uncomfortably loud, unlike my PXC550's that need to be on max gain almost all the time.
I was using my QC35 with a Galaxy Note3 and the volume controls were totally separate, I usually had the Note3 gain one notch down from max and controlled the volume on the QC35's where even around 60% was loud and punchy, and the Bose 'loudness' algorithm worked well, my 550's need both gains at close to max with most of my music.
At least with Poweramp on my Android Note3 I can also boost the pre-amp to get a little extra boost where needed with some of my older recordings where they kept the peaks 'out of the red'

Hey!

I had the same issue you experienced. Few months ago i borrowed my friends QC35 and was blown away that a Bose headphone sounded this good. Usually not been a big fan of Bose headphones, only really appreciated their ANC. Last week i decided to buy the headphones and for the entire week using it, i thought i got a faulty pair. I always thought the volume was too low and sounded distant and kind of muffled. I was baffled, but then i maxed my iphone volume, maxed the headphone volume and used the headphone to control the volume. I dont know what that did, but it fixed the issue and headphones sound great!!! Now when i reconnect, the phone will show say 50% volume, but they dont sound distant at all. It seems like a software issue.

Mine are back to the condition where they are not loud enough, i just connected them to my iPhone and played some music and now they are again controlling my iPhone volume, same with Mac.
I cannot control the internal volume of the QC35.
I don't know how its got fixed suddenly !

And another update, when i have 2 device connected, (iPhone and Mac) and i increase the volume on the Bose app it increases the Mac volume ! Isn't that ridiculous ? Now there seems to be no way to increase the QC35 volume and they sound rubbish below 70-80%
