So what is Bose afraid of? They don't post frequency response ranges for any of their audio equipment. For instance, what is the response of Triports?

I am really beginning to believe what everybody says that Bose is ALL marketing. They make headphones that initially sound great so people will buy them for outrageous prices.
I saw a comment on a post here on Head-Fi that was like "I am sick of being asked if I have a high end Bose system when I tell somebody I am an audiophile". They are ubiquitous.

Has anybody ever seen an independent test of Bose equipment that includes tests of frequency ranges? I'd be curious to see what the results are.

They would get laughed at. But the sheeple don't seem to care.

BOSE AM-15
Satellites
FR 280hz to 13.3hz at 10.6 DB.
Bass mod 46hz to 202hz at 2.3 DB.
I think Bose tried suing SnV over this.

Wait, the satellites have a FR of 280hz to 13.3khz (I assume you meant kilohertz and not hertz there)? Considering I just saw that Denon 1001s have a response of 8hz to 35,000hz, that is pretty damn pathetic. Then again, that is a satellite and not a pair of headphones, but still. Got any more? I actually laughed when I saw those figures.

Are those numbers accurate? No wonder they never advertise FR.

So, 'no highs, no lows, it must be BOSE' is quite true.

Just google Bose frequency response.. You will see S&V compared BOSE with other manufactuers speaker systems.. Some cost less then half on the bose, but destroys them on FR..

Don't make too much of frequency responses. And as for the Denon, there is no way it can have that frequency response. So what's better: No frequency response listed or an outright lie?

Just ignore Bose. They make terrible-sounding, expensive and flimsy gear. Until they produce something good (and they are capable), Bose deserves zero attention.

Hmm, it definitely could be a lie. According to the PDF Product Sheet on Denon's website, the AH-D1001s have a frequency response of: 8Hz - 37KHz

Here is a link:
http://www.usa.denon.com/AH-D5000_20..._1004_rev1.pdf

If they really ARE lying about their frequency response, they aren't much better than Bose then because Bose lies about its sound quality, Denon lies about its frequency responses. All marketing ploys to trick people into buying their equipment.
If they AREN'T lying, that is a pretty amazing response. I'll give Denon the benefit of the doubt...
