Today I bought a Bose PM1 - a discontinued PCDP.

I can hear the vocal more clearly than my iPod (lossless) among other sonical improvements. The only downside is the noise.

I have tried both DC supply and AA batteries. The noise from DC supply was worse, but even with AA batteries the CD spin noise is transmitted to the IEM.

I used a pair of UE TF10.

Is this normal in PCDP? I'm getting an Arietta this week (hopefully) and I hope that the amp attenuates the noise level and let me enjoy pure music.

I also have a Bose PM1 that I use ocassionally, There's no noise issue with. It's as quiet as a church mouse. Have you tryed other PCDP's?

Nope. This is the first PCDP that I have tried.
Well I only hear the noise between songs and in pause.
In other words, the noise does no interfere with the music... I haven't tried the quiet songs... like vocal+piano type...
