I think I need to go search out these bose cans and find out why everybody here seems to hate them and make them, and their users, the butt of their jokes. OK they are probably not the best, and they may not be worth the money, but until I hear them for myself how do I know?

Yup - you must listen for yourself.

I almost pulled the trigger on them, but I'm glad I didn't. Without comparison, I found their sound decent. With comparison, they sound muddy. Bottom line to me - price tag too high. Half price and I'd probably own Tri-Ports.

"I'd agree with that, they are quite comfortable and light weight. I've been looking for a good closed phone that is equally as small and comfortable."

eggos! Small, extremely comfy, decent sound. They're closed and don't leak at all but don't isolate much. $90 from Audiocubes:

Or around $60 used from the forums here, when they come up.

I honestly don't know why people love the Bose triports so much. I tried them on about a year ago (long before I even found this forum and was still using sony clip-ons) and they sounded like crap to me. The sound was just.... bloated. For something that cost three times as much as my sonys at the time, I was expecting more.

The lows were muddy and the highs were nearly non-existent. Granted it might have been the ipod that I heard them from (not to say anything bad about ipods, but I think the display model just had low bit rate files).

Anyway, they are nowhere worth their price tag. I'll probably buy them for $20... oh no, wait I rather have the ksc 75s.

Ok everytime thers a Bose thread you guys seem to rag on the Triports. I admit there not worth their 150$, but there also not as bad as u guys make them out to be. Also YamiTenshi here says that if they were 20$ he would still not buy them and get the KSC 75's instead. I can guarantee he would not do that. Even if you were stupid you would get the Bose's and sell them to some guy and then buy like 5 pairs of KSC 75's with that, if you really wanted the KSC 75's more than the triport.

Sorry, let me make myself clear.

I would not buy them for my own personal use, for that I would rather have the ksc 75s. But if I was thinking of getting them to make a profit then I would get the bose triports.

to me, the Triports sound mid heavy a with rolled bass and treble. they are also somewhat distant sounding, to my ears. they are pretty comfortable, though. i think the KSC series and the PortaPros completely blow the Triports away. this is not, i think, a contreversial view.
