First off I'd like to thank Johnwmclean for generously offering his place for us crazy audiophiles once again. The BBQ was awesome, as was the coffee, wine, and scotch :D

One of the big standouts for me was Justin's vinyl rig; the turntable > Melos > HP-2 system sounded incredibly analogue and liquid, very satisfying. John's Buffalo > Balanced Beta22 > balanced LCD2 was phenomenal as well, and is probably my new benchmark of awesome sound :D

For those who had cameras on the day (*cough* justin *cough*), please post the pics! :D

Standout 1

I had looked forward to hearing Tom’s kgss with o’2’s and I was not disappointed, very fast resolving and detailed, the finest I’ve heard classical on a headphone to date, I thought the bass was exceptionally refined as well.

Standout 2

Justin’s Stabi S Turntable > Eddie Current phono stage > Melos (heavy modded by Tom) sounded very lust with HP-2’s. I tried LCD-2’s with this rig but preferred the synergy with the Grado’s.

Standout 3

Jason’s Burson Audio 160D > LCD-2’s was making great music, the DAC section sounded exceptional, a quick A/B vs Buffalo32 proved hard to note any difference DAC’s.

Standout 4

Tom’s Ardbeg scotch.

Holy hell I forgot Erwins TakeT’s, although not everyone’s taste, I found something I really liked about them, Tom’ Beta24 would have been a better bet than the EHHA IMO...

I always knew there was a valid reason for photoshop's existence.........

There's a photo, so it must have happened.

Another thank you to John for another awesome meet.
I enjoyed hearing Tom's KGSS+O2 as well as the B22+LCD2 combo.
I found the O2s absolutely stunning and exciting with the classical recordings I threw at it, but I think I'd like them more paired with a BHSE for a warmer sound. I (again) really liked the LCD2s and their beautiful mid-range and bass and found they really sounded great with whatever I tried them with.

I had a great time chatting with everyone and catching up, and I also got to finally meet Erwin after listening to his huge collection of headphones he has loaned to meets in the past.

I'd also like to see some of those photos too, Justin.

Huge thanks to John for being the finest of hosts yet again! Tom's generous decision to give me his KGSS & O2 rig has left me speechless! He could clearly see how much I loved it, so seized the opportunity to do his good deed for the day and made me the proud new owner. I can't image there has been a more selfless giveaway on the forums to date. Thanks again Tom.

Hey everyone,

Sorry for the delay in posting, super insane week at work.

Thanks so much for having us John! It was great to catch up with you all.

The Stax's sounded awesome and the LCD2's caught me by surprise (although maybe too intense for me)

Pictures below as promised. Hotlinks were being annoying..

Who are the ugly dudes in the first and last pictures?
At least in the last photo there are the Taket H2's to deflect the attention from the mug......

When you come to think of it;
Any similarity between the last photo and this?

Pretty close, or should it be: Ugly close.......

If you called getting Shpongled again good, I guess that's an affirmative.

Justin's vinyl setup playing Eric Clapton Unplugged was an eye-opener especially on the PS1000's
