Has anyone modded a pair of T70's to basically become the open T90's?
 
I want to do this on mine since i bought them before the T90 was out and i bought into the Tesla hype.
 
Any suggestions? Has anyone done similar mods?
 
Are the drivers basically the same or are there inherent differences?

The cup design of the T90 is the same as the DT880 behind the grill. It will look exactly like this without anything covering it. You will need to make a grill to go over the top though, because it creates back pressure in the cup. You should probably just cut the whole center out and then make this shape, or something similar to insert into the cup.

I took this during my DIY Manufaktur project.

Interesting maybe I'll look for some broken dt880 or dt990s and swap the drivers.

Just look for an 880, the 990 is much different. It's fully open with a white piece of circular plastic inside that has a quarter-sized hole in the center. The 880 would be perfect.
