Below is a brief description of the Denon AH-D9200 and Beyerdynamic T5 (3rd generation), taking into account my preferences in audio sound, of course.

Denon AH-D9200 - the sound signature is neutral and a little light, closer to monitor (sterile) sound. I lacked the main thing in them - musicality, everything sounds rather bland, not engaging. Although there are people for whom such a sound signature of headphones suits. Comfort is average, my ear pads do not completely cover the ear, like the Meze Empyrean or HIFIMAN HE1000, for me, the last mentioned headphones have the best comfort.

Beyerdynamic T5 (3rd generation) - the sound signature is neutral with a slight hint of warmth. These headphones are a hybrid of technicality and musicality. Everything sounds balanced, musically engaging with details. You will find more information above. Comfort is also average, their ear pads, like those of the Denon AH-D9200, do not completely cover my ear, but the passive sound insulation is better in the Beyerdynamic T5 (3rd generation). I also think that Beyerdynamic has optimized their cable and ear pads well for the Beyerdynamic T5 (3rd generation). In my opinion, their signature elements (cable and ear pads) provide synergy and better sound quality. This means that you will not have to spend additional funds to improve the sound. The price of the Beyerdynamic T5 (3rd generation) is lower than that of the Denon AH-D9200.

My recommendations: connect the Beyerdynamic T5 (3rd generation) via a balanced Beyerdynamic cable and to good audio equipment, because when connected to a computer, they sound like mid-range headphones. Listen to them in a quiet environment for at least 30 minutes and you will understand how cool they sound.

Of course, I always recommend listening to these headphones yourself before buying.

Good luck!
THX a lot!!And with my mod, It will sounds better than stock:gs1000smile:Are the D9200 on a whole other level of detail compared to the T5.3?

Are the D9200 on a whole other level of detail compared to the T5.3?
At first, preliminary listening it may seem that Denon AH-D9200 has better detail than Beyerdynamic T5 (3rd generation). This ephemeral impression is connected with the fact that Denon AH-D9200 have a brighter sound signature and they, like other studio audio equipment, are aimed at demonstrating technical details in the track without much concern for the manifestation of feelings in music (emotional involvement in music). Perhaps you are familiar with the sound signature of Sennheiser HD 800, Denon AH-D9200 has some distant similarity in the sound signature.
At the same time, this does not mean that Beyerdynamic T5 (3rd generation) have worse detail or they are less technical headphones than Denon AH-D9200. When listening thoughtfully, the Beyerdynamic T5 (3rd generation) has microdynamics, simply presented “for pleasure”, without excessive analyticality. You will also hear a lot of details in the track (overtone), but it will not be thrown in your face, as the Denon AH-D9200 does, but will be presented softly with a share of delicacy and musicality.
Beyerdynamic T5 (3rd generation) offers musicality through truthfulness and sophistication. These headphones do not decorate the sound, but reproduce it as it is, so the listener who appreciates naturalness and balance gets pleasure from them.
It is quite possible that the main idea of the Beyerdynamic engineers when setting up the sound signature of the Beyerdynamic T5 (3rd generation) was the desire to present music as art. And I think they succeeded. Beyerdynamic T5 (3rd generation) are emotional and engaging headphones precisely because of their honesty: you hear the artist's intention and the subtle emotions of the recording without distortion. Below is a small comparison table.

Aspect Denon AH-D9200 Beyerdynamic T5 (3rd Gen)
Microdynamics
(fine nuances, quiet details)
Emphasizes detail through clear treble – microdynamics are perceived vividly.Does not emphasize microcontrast, but conveys it naturally.
Speed, attack and fade
(technicality)
Fast, punchy sound. Attacks are sharp and energetic. Fade is controlled, with no smearing.Precise but softened attack (bass hits gently). Smooth decay creates a sense of coherence.
Resolution and detailFocused on resolution and "air". Sound is transparent.Ultra-clean vocals and mids, delicate highs. Detail is not exaggerated, but objectively on par with the best.
Sound signatureSlightly U-shaped tuning; a blend of analytical and moderate musicality. Slight coloration at the edges (bass, treble).
The sound is clean, detailed, yet rich.
Nearly linear, neutral-musical sound signature. Flat tonal balance, warm mids, no strong emphasis. Very balanced. Slightly leans analytical, but the smoothness ensures it feels natural and musical.

I would like to draw your attention to the fact that this is purely my personal perception of the sound signature of these headphones (guideline).
Since we all (people) have different sound preferences, hearing acuity (its training), then you can perceive the sound signature of these headphones differently and this is also normal.
I just wanted you to understand me correctly and not make a mistake, you may not like the sound signature of the Beyerdynamic T5 (3rd generation), but on the contrary, the Denon AH-D9200 will suit your preferences in sound and music genres.
To know this for sure, you better listen to these headphones yourself!

Good luck!

For what its worth, I think the T5.3 are a little muddy untuned....but with slight EQ I find them to be very good. I sold other cans to keep them as my only set (they are durable, light, easy to drive and repair/find parts eventually if needed)

Would definitely recommend looking used, as you will get great value....and often new headphones.

Yes, of course, that's exactly why I asked — to hear opinions from people who actually listened to both. I fully understand how personal sound perception is, and that everyone hears things differently. But still, I’m trying to figure out which headphone’s sound signature aligns better with my own preferences — I tend to prefer a "warmer", more emotional sound rather than a super analytical one.
Also, I’m considering the price-to-performance ratio: the Beyerdynamic T5 (3rd gen) are around $700 and I really like how beyer looks like:beyersmile:, and the Denon AH-D9200 are $900 — so I was wondering: would I really be missing out on a lot of detail by going with the Beyers, or is the difference something you can get used to and live with.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write this comparison,Dalmonegrig, it’s incredibly helpful!
:)
