Get out the absorber, put a t1.2 rubber sealing and you have a t1.3.x generation.

Thanks for relating your experience. Do you notice the inner hole of the pads (zone to accommodate your ears) bigger in your pads comparing to your friend's pads? If you could measure it or compare to Beyer 1990 or Amiron Home pads would be perfect.

My issue is the 1990 Pro or Amiron Home fit very good my ears but the T 1.3 pinched my ear lobes and were very uncomfort for me.

That's how i'm using them right now, with the rubber rings. Makes them more airy i feel. Not sure if i prefer it this way, need to use them a bit more like this. Gotta love how modular Beyer's are though. Sorry for the double post!

Don't needed. I remember I can measure my 1990 Pros The inner hole inside the pads is about 5,5 cms, but the surface that contacts around your ears (the beginning of the hole) is about 6,5 or 7 cms.

I had T1.1, T90 and T1.3 at the same time for a while, sold everything to only keep the T1.3. I rapidly got used to this darker tone and forgiveness on lesser quality recordings. I tried for a while to remove the foam inserts and I tried swapping the pads for T1.1 and T1.2 pads. It sounded pretty much like a T1.2. More sparkle but the sound texture and 3D imaging was not as good as stock to my ears. I put the T1.3 back in its entire stock form and I enjoy the music . With the Singxer SA-1 it sounds much clearer and more open since I put the Beyer balanced cable on the T1.3. Tempted to upgrade the amplifier for a Denafrips Artemis.

I've been working on my T1.3 review but have made zilch progress in the past two weeks (busy and tiring days).

These have been growing on me quite a bit. I try to go back to my main headphones but keep pulling these out for some reason.

I think they're definitely TOTL grade in terms of detail retrieval and imaging. Dunno if it's the high sensitivity or the low impedance; minute intricacies are soo well represented. Things like grain and reverb in recordings are more apparent with the T1.3 than even my Phobos.

Going back to regular mainstream headphones is really a task after listening to these

Let's start at the most obvious end of the T1.3 - the bottom end. There's a whole lot of stuff down there reproduced with the T1.3 that is only hinted at by many phones. It actually was a "I haven't heard that before" moment the first time I put them on, and that doesn't happen often (only twice in 50 years of listening, in fact) The other thing that stands out is bass dynamics - this is the first headphone that makes my ears feel the bass, like speakers can. You can actually feel the wall of air hit your ears. And I listen quite softly.
It brings a welcome realistic balance to, for example, piano/bass/drum jazz trios that wasn't there before - most are "bass lite/treble bright", whereas the T1.3 headphones get the top and bottom balance just right - just how I hear it "unplugged" in a hall/club.
Next midrange - it's a little recessed, but not in any major way. Vocals sound great and sibilance is not emphasised.To me, voices sound right with these.
Treble - no emphasis of sibilance is a major achievement for these phones, without missing detail. They don't sound muffled at all - once your brain learns about the natural and not emphatic bottom end.
Despite the T1.3's frequency response being well outside the Harman norm, the reproduced sound of acoustic instruments, tonally and dynamically, is spot on and simply breathtaking, and that's what reproduced sound should be held to. IMHO, these show that the Harman Reference curve for headphones isn't right - it needs a greater bottom end shelf up and more treble roll off. These will stay.

Same, these are the one headphone I won't get rid of, I'll sell everything else off before letting go of these, they're the only ones that sound "correct" to me anymore.
