I'm thinking of picking up the T1 Gen. 3 - love the T1 Gen 2, which sounds great out of the Burson Conductor Reference 3X

One brilliant aspect to the T1 that I forgot to mention is it’s inability to sound sharp. Even the most horrendous recording will come across about as friendly and warm as you can imagine. The Nighthawk is similar. What may often sound piercing or grating via a more linear headphone will present itself in a warm and welcoming fashion over the T1. Folks who are treble or mids sensitive..this is your bag!
The other side of the coin though, at least for me, is that a lot of instruments and vocals end up losing their presence/edge/tonality...guitars often seem bereft of bite and especially female vocals sound like they’re emanating from waaaay in the back of the studio. Then again...give me a week with only the T1 on my head..and it will most likely sound natural....like many in here have mentioned.
The thing is, ALL headphones will eventually sound natural - that’s how our brains work:-)

That is true, about everything else sounds like it has excess glare or sharpness to it compared to these including my Nighthawk Carbon but I noticed some mild mid/treble issues on the Hawks in the past due to the Amiron Home and T1.2, just those have more upper energy than the Hawks and T1.3. Many Beyers in general don’t tend to have upper midrange glare or roughness (a reason I like Beyers in general), they’ve always handled that part of the midrange well. Honesty once settle into its sound the female vocals and instruments are fine and don’t sound distant. True many headphones will sound natural when you adjust to it, the question comes down to which you type of sound signature prefer and sounds best to you with long term listening. This headphone is ruining other headphones for me the longer I own it so I’m realizing it’s definitely for me. I guess I gravitate more towards a warm sound signature than I ever realized.

Be careful, several pages ago one forum member noticed a lot of hiss with T1 v3 in the Burson 3XR, and even he decided to return them... I will search that post in a few minutes for you.

Here you have

I'm a little perplexed at the new Beyer logo that can be seen on the T1.3-- it looks like a y on the side of the headband. What's the obvious reason for that that I am missing.

On a sonic note, this headphone is hitting the target for me. Makes me wonder why I should bother having the other headphones I do. (Well because, perhaps like you, I'm a somewhat obsessive audiophile who likes collecting a variety of sonic signatures). If I'm in a downsizing mood, this T1.3 will make the cut.

From the 300 R Gaming headphone.

" On stage, Beyerdynamic showed off its new logo, new “Y” shaped company symbol and discussed its new brand direction. “Your Beyerdynamic” wants to be a more consumer-focused brand, making “sophisticated products for sophisticated people.”"

In other words it's just marketing mate. "y" = your Beyerdynamic.

Count me as another one who likes the older Beyerdynamic logo, which is the one on my older, non-copper Amiron Wireless and my 1st gen T1. I've still never heard the T1 2nd gen much less the T1.3.

The new logo to me looks less sophisticated and more toy-like to me. I don't care for it. And the new T1.3 look ... cheaper to me than the premium look of the T1 2nd gen and 1st gen T1.

After reading through this thread, it's really difficult to get a read on what these sound like. The descriptions sound similar to the NightOwl with some more breathing room. If the upper mids are as soft as members have said, I don't think these are for me. I've wanted to try the T5p 2nd for a long time, but I wouldn't mind having a 2nd open back. How do these two cans compare / contrast? I've grown fond of Audio Technica upper mids. Just how different is the T1 3rd compared to that?

I’m a bit mixed on looks in person but I do like the old grill look better and I’ll say the gen 2 is more elegant and attractive overall but the gen 3 does look better in person than pictures. But the gen 3 does feels more premium than the gen 2, the gen 3 just feels more substantial and better built in the hand. Think more like the DT 1990 feel in the hands but even nicer built. Sound wise very different, I like both quite a bit and I do switch them based on mood. When I do finally get to the review, just haven’t had any time lately. I will mention the pros and cons of each. They have different strengths and neither is perfect of course.

Yeah the new look reminds me 1990 a lot.
