Hi,

Long story: My friend asked me a couple of days ago if I think ~60$ is a good price for some Beyerdynamic DT770 (non-pro). Having lurked on here for years, I said yes. He went ahead and bought them. He's been browsing the web since he got them (more than 4 hours ago) and hasn't found any reference or any clue to help him tell what kind of model they are and/or if they are fake.

Short story: Please help me ID these Beyerdynamic DT770 headphones! They have a coiled cable, which ends ONLY in 1/4" jack (no 1/8 adapter to 1/4", etc.), which starts from the TOP of the headband (can hardly be seen in the pictures).

I've searched the forums for this myself but haven't found anything but a Justin Bieber pic with DT770's and that's not even relevant or pleasing..

Any help on the matter would be appreciated!

It's an earlier version of the DT770, they're real. I've seen them quite a few times(the pair in OP's pictures) in recording studio's i've been to.

Thank you, NA Blur and EpicPie!

EpicPie, any idea how the people in those recording studios cope with the cable being on top like that? It's a weird position to have it in to say the least..

I'm not wrong in assuming there are differences in sound quality between these (older model) and the current ones, right?

Thanks again!
