I was contemplating same headphones, but I am leaning towards the hd598 with creative sound blaster e5 sound card/amp. Do you think that would be good for bring out the best in the headphones? especially for gaming?

not familiar with the soundcard you have,but a good,easy to drive alternative that rocks for both music and gaming is Philips X2
