Just need some input on this:

I own a pair of the DT-250 and I'm interested in getting the Custom One Pro.

Would it be worth purchasing a pair of Custom One Pros? Is their modular sound signature worth getting versus another pair of closed 'phones?

What do you guys/gals think?

Heya,

Depends.

The COP to me sounds like the worst headphone Beyer has made regarding the mid-frequencies. Very recessed, distant and not very energetic. It's bassy, which is it's strongest point. And easy to drive. Also built pretty rugged. The treble is rolled off too, it's not bright like most Beyers. To me, it's not a good sounding headphone unless you just want to hear bass drops and nothing else. I wanted to like it, when I bought mine, but it was just not salvagable even after I changed pads and everything. Requires equalization to sound right to me. The DT250 is frankly better in my eyes. As is the standard DT770.

Very best,

Thanks for the quick response. Yeah, it sounds like a headphone that I really wouldn't like. It's the brighter sound signature that I enjoy and the DT-250 has that in spades. Looks like I'll just pick up some new pads (I bought my pair used).

I'll wait to hear the Custom One Pro at a meet.

Thanks a lot for the insight!
