For sure. I have both dt150 and dt770 (32 ohm). Mids are so much better on dt150.

Given it has the classic Beyer round earcup design then it's probably going to be at the same comfort level as their other full size offerings, which means very comfortable IME, but as it's part of the Pro line expect a higher clamping force than the consumer line typically has.

Of course comfort can be subjective, so really you would need to try them.

I find the DT1990 to be more precise and extended than the DT1770. The mids and the voices - which in both headphones are prominent - have more body in the DT1990. Bass of course has more sub presence in the closed DT1770
After only a very short period of comparison, I have to say the open unit has my preference

I really like both units but then again I love almost all Beyer headphones and own the T51P, COP, DT770, T70, T90 and both these now. Not a fan of the T1 though, luckily neither of the new ones remind me of the T1.

Is the soundstage better compare to other open bayers? Im intrique by the 2 Pads, are they comfortable? Good for long listening?

You've nailed it. The clamping force do is bigger than let's say the DT990 or T90, but they're still extremely comfortable and soft.
I've been using it now for the last 5 hours and it's still very comfy (and soft )

Have you gotten around to comparing the DT1990's to the T90's and T70's yet?
 
It's good to hear that they have not messed up the comfort on these... although the fact that they are "pro" makes me wonder if Beyer are planning on releasing "premium" 600 ohm editions of these like DT880's and DT990's
 
I'd also like to mention that, as far as I'm aware, the T70's don't have recessed mids, although they do have very rcessed bass. Anyway, back on topic...

I have Chord Mojo + Senn HD650 combo right now.
I want to upgrade my gear, so i am thinking of buying DT 1990 Pro.
 
Will it be a upgrade from HD650 or side grade ?

Hoping for an upgrades & sidegrade together, remember it have 2 pads and a newer connector, compare to DT1770.

Based on what others have said, the DT 1990 should be both an upgrade and sidegrade from the HD 650's. It should have a bit more treble and better bass extention, but with slightly less bass overall. I'm guessing that the DT 1990 would also have substantially more detail. About the soundstage though, we'll just have to wait and see. That's just what I've gathered from reading other's impressions, though. I could be totally wrong. I've never heared the DT 1990's and i've only heard the HD 650's for a very brief time. I enjoyed them, though

Have the DT1770 and the HD650. It is easy for me to like them both. The DT is easier to drive from my DAP though. I expect the same for the DT1990. The Tesla driver responds better to the given signal from a DAP. The HD650 scales more with amplification.

I wonder how these will fare against the t1 which can now be found for around $600. I think we might see a dt1880 soon which is very exciting for beyerdynamics line of headphones
