New cable for my 1990, i should have done it in silver don't like the copper in combination with the 1990
Did it myself@Cevisi where did u get it from?
Did it myself
I took the charts for the Dekoni Hybrids, and the stock B and A pads, and I EQ'd the Hybrids to be more in line with teh A pad response for mids and treble, but without undoing the treble taming the Hybrids do. Gives me an intimacy that will rival any Sennheiser HD6 series, but the soundstage and big bass response of the DT-1990 is capable of.Posts like this make me curious about doing some pad rolling but my hesitation is more with potential impact on the mids, which I love with my A pads. A bit more bass might be nice but I am so pleased with the balanced blend of the mids with the bass and treble that I'm (to date) not willing to risk it.
With that siad I'm a huge mids guy but not at the expense of bass/treble and what I perceive as overall 'presence' like like I feel something like the Senn HD6X0 series is missing. Getting bass and treble out of the DT 1990 (or Elegai and HE-500 that round out my current stable) is where I tend to call it a day.
My vote goes to the regular FA-10 instead of the Pro version. The tuning of the DT-1990 would pair better with the FA-10 since it's already on the brighter side of neutral. The FA-10 Pro is a brighter sounding version of the FA-10 and I think it would be a little to incisive with the DT-1990's. Unless that is the sound you're after. Please don't leave me alone on this one....I posted the same request more than 1 month ago and got no luck with amp suggestions
I am looking for a new headphone amp to drive my 1990 as well as my 1770.
I am currently using a Lake People G100W, which I really like
I also own a Beyer a20 which is a bit to muddy imho, and a Monoprice THX AAA 887 which is too cold.
Basically I really like the G100W, but now I need an amp for the set up in my living room and that require a remote control, which is not available for any of the Lake People amps
I found some options like:
BeyerDynamic A2
Burson Conductor V2
SPL Phonitor SE
Flux Labs FA10 Pro
All of the above are available around the $1000 price tag
DO you have any experience with one of the above amps? Or could you recommend other models in the same price range that could pair well with my Beyers? Remote control is a must
Thanks

I have A2/T90/ T1.2, sorry no 1990, I believe T90 will somewhat close to 1990. A2 drive T90 beautifully with authority and a lot of detail, I like it very much. A2 drive 250 ohm T90 better than 600 ohm T1.2.Please don't leave me alone on this one....I posted the same request more than 1 month ago and got no luck with amp suggestions

Thanks for your advice , unfortunately to my understanding the remote control is not an option for that modelMy vote goes to the regular FA-10 instead of the Pro version. Thanks @Jay Smith , have you had a chance to compare A2 vs A20? I read that the sound signature is the same and honsetly I am not a big fan of the A20, which I find a bit muddy on the bass and too dark on the treble sides compared to Lake People, with a much lower sense of space.I have A2/T90/ T1.2, sorry no 1990, I believe T90 will somewhat close to 1990. Are you using your A2 at 0 or 100 Ohm output impedance ? I think that would make a big difference
Also, I have seen the Amazon offer, but that is not from a prime seller and I am not sure if I should trust it...seems too good to be true..![]()
Thanks !You are right, trust seller is important, I just had that low price catch all my attention....
I use 100 Ohm setting for both T90 and T1.2, no muddy and not dark, not aggressive on the treble either, everyrthing seems just right, last night I listen to Yo Yo Ma all night and now I listen to Eminem, A2 and T90 do all music right, bass, midrange, air, soundstage, no problem.
Thanks !
I just found an "amazon prime" deal for 816 euro brand new, which I definitely trust
I will probably go for it, test for a couple of weeks and then eventually return it in case I am not satisfied
Isn’t the remote for the FA-10 Pro a plug in? Maybe it’s the IR adapter that’s gets plugged in. I know it’s not completely wireless. Thanks for your advice , unfortunately to my understanding the remote control is not an option for that model
Seems like the Pro is the oly one with that
I got that remote is only available for the “pro” version, and FA12 is the only pro model. Anyway, I sent them a few questions including this one.Isn’t the remote for the FA-10 Pro a plug in? Maybe it’s the IR adapter that’s gets plugged in. I know it’s not completely wireless.
